Speed edit video of "Structures II"

Hello friends! It's been a hot minute since I've posted any sort of blog so I hope you enjoy it!

In this video you will get a small glimpse into my process of creating an image. The image was shot of some buildings in Downtown Minneapolis. Did I know I would be creating this image that day? not necessarily, but It's always sort of expected. Sometimes art doesn't need to be planned practically or in particular, but rather subconsciously. I created this on a whim just walking downtown. When I saw the scene, when I stopped and payed attention to the details around me, I had a vision in my head of what I could create from start to finish. I am always prepared to create, this is something I learned during my 365-project. Sometimes the best images come from just exploring, having an ongoing vision/idea (Artist Statement) in your head to base your art from, and physically putting it in to practice to make the full vision become real. Obviously having a plan can be just as well but don't think it's always necessary!

The idea of this image is for us to to lift each other up and support one another's foundations. We must constantly create stronger foundations for all elements and aspects of what it means to be human. We must build each other up to become beautiful serene structures and surpass our human limits.

Final Image!

Every small detail of workflow adds to the vision, the mood, and the message of the final product, and sometimes you even need to subtract detail to further exemplify that idea. As you can see I eliminated many elements like the windows in this image because they were a distraction to the overall mood I was trying to achieve. If you'd like to learn these post-processing techniques, workflow and others like it, I encourage you to sign up for one of my workshops or personal mentoring sessions at www.tylerrayburn.com/mentoring

Enjoy :)
